William "Smoke" Howard

William, known as “SMOKE”, a veteran performer, has been an entertainer for over 30 years.  A native of Bristol, Tennessee, his singing career took off when he led and managed a number of bands including South Jersey’s “Black Smoke”.  Smoke also provided lead vocals on one Billboard charted record, titled “Freakin Time” by Asphalt Jungle.  Revealing the business side, he co-owned Swing City Recording Enterprises of Philadelphia, PA.

As the former lead singer for “The Ebonys”, his rugged, voice is part of the powerful sound that distinguishes many of the Ebonys songs (It’s Forever, You’re The Reason Why, I’ll Try, etc…).  He is the co-writer and producer of The Ebonys last released album in 2003 entitled, “The Ebonys…That’s Forever…”

Smoke’s recent accomplishments features his vocals in a song entitled, “That’s What Love Does” written and produced by Vincent Montana, Jr. & The Philly Sound Orchestra and was released in Europe (2005).  Louis Benedetti for Soul Shine Recordings completed additional production and remixes.

Smoke remains active and is currently recording a Gospel Album, and an R & B album.
